Anechoic Frequency Response

The frequency response of a speaker in an anechoic chamber with no room interactions with the sound. By testing in an anechoic chamber, a speaker designer can find the true frequency response of the speaker. Since the listening environment always affects the frequency response (except in an anechoic environment), it is impossible to determine the frequency response of the speaker itself without removing the room interactions. The anechoic chamber removes the room’s effect on the sound to allow the study of the speaker itself.
