Caudal

Towards the tail. This word is used when an organism is in anatomic position and it is necessary to describe a feature on its body so that others can understand without actually seeing the organism where something is in reference to something else. When thinking about the word caudal, one must understand that even though humans do not have a tail, the word caudal still applies. This simply means towards the tail if humans had a tail. The abdominal aorta moves in a caudal direction before splitting into the two common iliac arteries.
