To produce the needed plutonium, three reactors were constructed at Hanford, Washington. The reactors eventually produced several hundred grams of plutonium a day.

The plutonium for the Trinity and Fat Man bombs were produced here. Hanford continues to produce plutonium for the United States nuclear weapons.
