A person who breaks into systems for which they have no authorization. They penetrate information systems; to browse, steal, or modify data; deny access or service to others; or cause damage or harm in some other way.

A computer expert that can gain unauthorised access to computer systems. Hacker is an agnostic term and a hacker does not necessarily have malicious intent.
