A software program from Adobe Corporation for desktop publishing that had an immense success on the Apple Macintosh. Later it was available on both the Macintosh and the PC. It was used as a benchmark product, although in many areas it was supplanted by competitors such as QuarkXPress, and more recent products such as InDesign.
