(dwarven steel) n. A form of steel forged exclusively by dwarves which, though somewhat heavier than ordinary steel, is much stronger. Gear forged of invar usually carries a +2 bonus, but this bonus is not usually considered an "ordinary" enchantment, as it comes from the quality of the steel itself, and not magic. This distinction may not be important for most purposes, but some enemies which may be immune to non-magic weapons, may be immune to invar weapons, and conversely, magic which will not work on magical items, might work on invar.
