(Black Wolves) n. A group of rebels (mostly or entirely composed of humans) lead by the wizard Aramur Forean during the Second Age of the world, during elven rule. While most rebel/outlaw human bands were disorganized and for the most part unsuccessful, the Black Wolves managed to oust the elves from the area where Wehnimer's Landing lies today. The Black Wolves were defeated when they mistakenly attacked the infant prince of Vaalor's carriage train, believing it was not the prince's, but rather the patriarch's wagon. The patriarch swore vengence, eventually hunting down the Black Wolves, inevitably resulting in their being sieged in one of their hideouts, known as the Wolves' Den, where their food supplies could not outlast that of the elves'.
