Introduced in October 2010 as a part of the Building Regulations managed by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), 'Part L' of the regulations is in two parts; Part L1A which applies to newbuild homes and Part L1B which sets the standards for work carried out in existing homes, in order to achieve carbon reduction targets.
