(Blocking Technique) Vertical Knife-Hand Block. This technique is used to deflect an attack to the chest or solar plexus. It is more effective by taking a side step or by sliding towards the attacker. To perform this block, bend the wrist, pointing the fingers straight up with the palm forward. Keep the elbow straight while sweeping the attacker’s forearm outward.
