Glossary Liquid chromatography / Term
A stationary phase useful in both normal and reversed-phase chromatography. Consists of a diol structure (two -OH groups on adjacent carbon atoms in an aliphatic chain). Less polar than silica stationary phases used in normal-phase chromatography has been used for the reversed-phase separation of proteins and polypeptides.
A hydrophilic phase that is useful in normal and reversed phase. It is a diol structure (two –OH groups on adjacent carbon atoms in an aliphatic chain). In normal-phase work, it is less polar than silica. It has been used to separate proteins and polypeptides in reversed-phase chromatography.
