Glossary Multimedia / Term
Video term referring to an image error where the color from one object in an image seeps into the object or objects next to it in the same image. This is similar to water seeping out of a sponge and onto the surrounding surface. When one color is very bright or vibrant (such as a bright red) and another is lighter in color (such as a light cream color), the brighter color may “bleed” into the light color meaning some of the red may seep into the light cream color discoloring the light cream color and causing problems with the boundary between the two different color fields.
