Glossary Multimedia / Term
Video distortion caused by an excessive level of brightness resulting in images which are too large or exaggerated in size and are overly soft having lost a degree of focus. This effect is similar to an overexposed photograph. In such a photo there is too much light which washes out the image. In the process it makes the individual parts of the image (such as a person or a house) look fuzzy. This fuzziness tends to make the images look larger. Blooming problems can typically be solved by adjusting a video display’s brightness level to a lower, more appropriate value.
