Glossary Multimedia / Term
Electric devices that store a charge. Capacitors are similar to batteries in that they store an electric charge for later use. They are made of two conducting plates (metals) separated by a thin insulator (non-conductive material). A capacitor’s storage is measured in Coulombs, which is based on the capacitance of the device (its ability to hold a charge) multiplied by voltage imposed on it.
