Glossary Multimedia / Term
A speaker configuration in which a tweeter is “sandwiched” between two midrange drivers. This type of configuration was developed by and named for Joe D’Appolito. When the tweeter is set between two midrange drivers in a vertical line (midrange on top, tweeter in the middle, midrange on bottom), the tweeter’s output is directed at the listener primarily in the horizontal plane minimizing reflections with the floor and ceiling.
