Glossary Multimedia / Term
Video screen used in a front projection video display to reflect images back to the viewers that can wrap itself up and out of site. A retractable screen is not permanently mounted to a wall or other surface, but it can instead be pulled into a small container. These type of screens are often powered with small electric motors so that they can roll themselves up or down without any physical interaction or intervention by the viewer. The primary advantage of a retractable screen is an aesthetic one – the screen can be hidden out of site so it does not affect the décor of a space when retracted (rolled up) and can provide video in almost any location (when combined with a suitable video projector).
