Angling a speaker in toward the primary listening position to achieve better imaging and sound quality. A speaker can be toed-in in order to reduce room reflections, improve imaging and provide a listener with more direct sound on-axis (where the sound is usually optimal). By toeing-in a speaker, a line-of-sight straight line is set from the speaker drivers to the primary seating area. While this technique may improve sound in the primary listening position, it will shrink the “sweet spot” and may decrease sound quality for those sitting outside the prime listening position (as compared to speakers that are not toed-in).
