1) short for "ultra-high frequency", the radio frequency from 300 to 3,000 MHZ; 2) also used more specifically to indicate the TV broadcast band located in this range; in the United States, UHF channels 14 through 83 occupy the range from 470 MHZ to 890 MHZ.
