Glossary Multimedia / Term
Electric potential between two points in a circuit that generates force to move energy through that circuit; the force pushing energy through an electric circuit. Voltage is measured in volts. Voltage multiplied by current (the flow of energy through a circuit) equals power in watts. hink of voltage as the force pushing something. In a pipe filled with water, the water flow is the current (the amount of water flowing through the pipe in a given time period). The force pushing the water through the pipe is the voltage. When combined, the water flow and force pushing it create power in watts. High power amplifiers use high voltage to generate their power levels.
