Glossary Narrative Terms in Fiction and Film / Term
In a traditional narrative, conflict motivates the progression of plot events, occurring either between two characters or between one character and some opposing force. Conflicts can be essentially external (taking place in the physical realm) or internal (on intellectual, emotional, or spiritual levels). The conflict intensifies until a crisis is reached, and the conflict is resolved in a climax.
