Glossary Narrative Terms in Fiction and Film / Term
Sometimes referred to as the "imagined" reader, the "informed" reader, or the "ideal" reader, the implied reader is that presupposed by the narrative itself. For example, a narrative condemning racial discrimination implies a reader who believes in equality among the races. The implied reader is also the audience of the implied author.
