Shallow space

In film, an arrangement in which the action is staged with relatively little depth; the opposite of deep space.

In shallow space, the image appears flat or two dimensional, because there is little or no depth. With it there is a loss of realism, but it enhances the viewing by emphasizing the close proximity.
