An operation used to determine the diameter of the wellbore or the internal diameter of casing, drill pipe or tubing. In the case of wellbore calipers, the logging operation is used to determine restrictions or enlargement in the wellbore. In the case of tubular goods, the caliper log indicates where internal corrosion or scale accumulation is prevalent.
