Glossary Oil and Gas Field Operations / Term
A measure of the extent to which the mean daily temperature falls below an assumed base, say 65° F. thus each degree by which the mean temperature for any day is less than 65°F would represent one degree day. (In Continental Europe, °C are used instead of °F and the assumed base temperture is generally taken as 16°C, equivalent to 60.8°F).
