Glossary Oil and Gas Field Operations / Term
An LNG plant comprises one or more LNG trains, each of which is an independent unit for gas liquefaction. It is more cost-effective to add a train to an existing LNG plant, than to build a new LNG facility (known as a greenfield project), because infrastructure, such as ship terminals, does not have to be built for a new LNG train.
