Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs)

A class of antidepressant drugs that increase the level of serotonin.


The antidepressants most prescribed today that are designed to selectively block the reuptake of serotonin at the synapse, thereby leaving more serotonin available in the central nervous system.
