Regional Energy Information System; the Minnesota Department of Commerce’s computerized state energy data collection and information system required under Minnesota Statutes. It includes energy data the DOC collects directly from energy suppliers as well as data collected by other state departments such as the Minnesota Department of Revenue, Petroleum Taxation Division. It also includes energy data specific to Minnesota collected by the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Census and the U.S. Department of Transportation.
