Glossary Technical Theatre / Term
(kelvin) A measure of the warmth or coolness of light sources and colours. Measured in degrees Kelvin. The human brain automatically compensates for different colour temperatures - a film or video camera cannot, and thus what we see as white may appear to have a blue or green tint when no colour correction is used for video. Daylight is approximately 5600K and Tungsten Halogen is approx. 3200K.
