Intermedial Load

Intermedial load refers to those electricity generation technologies contributing to satisfy the demand in a range between base load and peak load of the electricity system. A generating unit that normally operates at a constant output (amount of electricity delivered) for several hours, eg. during a year, take all or part of the base load of a system. In contrast, a peak load unit is only used to reach specific peak periods of a few hours when the demand is high.
