Glossary Multimedia / Term
Term used to describe a sonic characteristic in which high frequency sounds produced by an audio system tend to be too loud and harsh or grating with a distinct directional component. Beaming refers to a high frequency distortion to be avoided. It causes fatigue for the listener due to a “fingers-on-the-blackboard” effect. This problem is often associated with low quality metal tweeters.
